Gateway Gallery Auction in Chambersburg, Pa., held their annual Labor Day sale on Sept. 1. A variety of Pennsylvania country painted furniture and accessories were sold, among many other categories of items.
A red-painted one-drawer farm table sold for $1,050, and a blue painted cupboard sold for $1,000. A green painted dry sink with zinc liner brought $650 and a primitive paint-decorated bucket bench sold for $600. A miniature paint-decorated lift-top chest sold for $500 and an oil-on-canvas painting depicting a mother and child sold for $925. A set of eight Chippendale style dining side chairs sold for $550 and an Eastlake style three-piece bedroom set sold for $500.
