No, that's not a typo. Galentine's Day is all the rage, and women young and old are beginning to mark Feb. 13 - the day BEFORE Valentine's Day - to remember all the amazing women in their lives. While not a long established tradition, it has its roots in pop culture. The phrase and event were coined back in 2010 by the writers of the popular sitcom "Parks & Recreation.” It obviously filled a gap since many women have now taken to celebrating the holiday each year. As defined by the show's main character, Leslie Knope, the holiday is to show how much you love your friends by celebrating with creativity, gifts, love and laughter.

On the fourth Wednesday of each month, a Scavenger Hunt is held with a prize going to the person who finds the most items on a list. Lists are given out at 5 p.m., and light refreshments are served.
