Historic Burlington Emporium Antique Show Is Slated For May 31

May 11, 2015

The Fall Antique Show held last October by the Historic Burlington Antique and Art Emporium was deemed so successful that the Burlington Emporium has decided to hold a Spring Antique Show on Sunday, May 31. Most of the shop’s 85 dealers will be present, and there will be over 20 dealers set up in front of the emporium and the adjacent parking lot located at 424 High St., Burlington City, N.J. The show will be free to the public, and selling will commence at 11 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
The unique emporium building was built by Edward Supper between 1917 and 1924 for the Nash dealership to repair and maintain automobiles. Today, the building is home to 65-plus antique dealers selling items from the early 1800s to the collectibles of today.
The emporium also boasts a 40-foot courtyard. Every spring, the emporium dealers fill this space with gardens items, such as jardinières, cement creatures, outdoor furniture, iron fencing, and also plants and flowers. Unusual plants with beautiful colors in strawberry pots, jardinières, and hanging baskets line the courtyard.
Auctioneer Chris Doerner and his wife, Elaine, of “21st Century Antiques” have agreed to offer free appraisals between 1 and 3 p.m. (only three items per shopper). Shoppers can call Doerner at 609-877-6843 to learn more.
Emporium dealers invite shoppers to this special show for conversations about antiques, evaluations of family treasures, and complimentary snacks. The Burlington Emporium is located half a mile from the Burlington-Bristol Bridge and is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
