International Society Of Appraisers Offers New Online Course

August 27, 2015

It has never been more convenient for those interested in a career in personal property appraising to begin their journey. The International Society of Appraisers (ISA) is now offering its Core Course in Appraisal Studies, the gold standard of appraiser training courses, through its self-paced, on-demand online Learning Center platform.
Widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive methodology courses for personal property appraising, the ISA Core Course is ideal for those with significant relevant experience who wish to apply their background to a new career. Candidates are typically art scholars, curators, collectors, museum staff members, antique dealers, auctioneers, estate liquidators, and others involved in the professional valuation of personal property.
Accessible 24/7 from any computer, anywhere, the Online Learning Center version of the Core Course in Appraisal Studies prepares students for the ISA Core Course exam while providing the flexibility to study at their own pace from their own homes. Upon passing the exam, students take the first step toward becoming an ISA-credentialed appraiser, an increasingly important distinction to the industry and the public.
The online Core Course offers 25 narrated lessons that cover appraisal theory, market research, ethics, and best practices on creating appraisals. Students are also assigned an instructor to address questions. Sessions are self-paced and interactive and feature online quizzes and discussion forums.
"Those considering the appraisal profession tell us they want to combine their market experience, scholarly background and passion for art or antiques with a dynamic career opportunity," said Cindy Charleston-Rosenberg, ISA CAPP and president of ISA. "They want to take control of their future and truly enjoy their work. With the Online Learning Center, they can begin the journey toward a meaningful, recognized, personal property appraising credential designed by one of the industry's most prestigious organizations.”
The course fee is $1,345 for ISA members and $1,620 for nonmembers. For more on this course, including an informational video, visit www.isa-appraisers.org/education/onl.
