Kaminski Sells Russian Porcelain Figure Of Bacchus For $26,400

Michael and Maureen Banner are 20th-century silversmiths from Monterey, Mass., whose work is represented in institutional collections across the country, such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, and The Museum of Fine Arts Boston. A hand-wrought modern teapot crafted of sterling silver and enamel standing just over 16 inches tall and weighing approximately 26.0 troy ounces sold for $18,000 on Jan. 17 at Kaminski Auctions.
A second teapot crafted in porcelain by Ralph Bacerra (1938-2008) on a stand signed "Bacerra 90" sold for $10,200.
Meeting expectations for the top lot of the sale was a 19th-century Russian porcelain figure of Bacchus standing 12 inches high and 8 inches wide, which came from a California estate. It sold for $26,400.
