Quinn & Farmer Restructures Ownership And Moves To New Location

September 16, 2015

Later this month, Quinn & Farmer Auctions plans to move from its present venue to a larger complex located east of Charlottesville, Va., off I-64 East and closer to Richmond. The new address is 8854 Three Notch Road in Troy, Va.
In conjunction with the move, Paul Quinn will assume full ownership of the auction business, which will be rebranded "Quinn's Auction Galleries Central Virginia" and will operate in concert with the flagship Quinn's Auction Galleries in Falls Church, located in northern Virginia. At the same time, Ken Farmer will redirect his focus toward antiques appraisals and wealth management under the banner "Ken Farmer & Associates."
"Ken and I are looking forward to working together in the future in a way that makes sense for both of us," said Quinn.
"This new arrangement allows me to concentrate on my clients and work more closely with them without having to worry about the day-to-day operations of an auction business. I am confident that Paul and I will both be happy with the outcome," added Farmer.
Quinn & Farmer's current managing director, Skip Usry, will continue in this role, and all of the firm's current staff, including Ken's wife, Jane Farmer, will transition to the new location.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, the new location in Troy will launch with a grand-opening multi-estate Fine and Decorative Arts Auction.
Ken Farmer & Associates is headed by Farmer, an appraiser and a 20-year veteran of the PBS show “Antiques Roadshow.” He will be providing appraisals, art-brokerage services and consultation to clients across the country, as well as serving as a guest speaker at public and private events. Quinn's Auction Galleries will be the largest antiques and fine art auction house in the commonwealth of Virginia. Its Falls Church location serves northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C., metro area, while the new central Virginia gallery will be convenient to Charlottesville and Richmond.
