Results From Locati's September Auction
"We are always excited to produce the September sale," said Michael Locati, co-owner. We have a great fall lined up with property from several estates and from some good collections, said Locati. Highlights of the September sale included a Chinese gilt bronze censer that brought $12,500; a Chinese Famille Verte porcelain bowl that sold for $3,100; a German Noah's Ark that brought $1,600; a rare piece of early Harrisburg, Pa., stoneware by T.H. Willson that sold for $1,600; and an etching by Gene Kloss that realized $1,300.
A color screenprint by Robert Motherwell sold within estimate at $1,500; a large oil-on-canvas painting by William Frerichs (1829-1905) brought $9,500; two pieces of unmarked Art Deco period glass sold for $2,100; and an unusual Sheraton writing arm chair, circa 1830, realized 1,400.
Locati's next sale will start Monday, Oct. 5, and close on Monday, Oct. 19.
