Selinsgrove Chamber Expanding 26th Annual Antiques Show

June 23, 2015

The Selinsgrove Chamber of Commerce will hold its 26th annual outdoor antique show, Antiques on the Avenue, on Sunday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on University Avenue between Broad and West Pine streets in Selinsgrove, Pa.
New to the show for this year will be displays from the Northumberland County Historical Society, The Joseph Priestley House and The Packwood House Museum. The Mifflinburg Buggy Museum will bring a full-size buggy for display and photo-ops. Keith Foote of Cooper's Battery B First Pennsylvania Artillery Civil War reenactors will also participate. Sunbury Press authors John L. Moore, J. R. Lindermuth, Guy Graybill and Melanie Simms will be there to display and talk about their various local history publications.
Also new this year will be an appraisal event similiar to “Antiques Roadshow.” An appraiser from Cordier Auctions and Appraisals will be on hand to appraise items for attendees. Tickets for the appraisal will be $5 per item or $10 for three items. Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m., and appraisals will be conducted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Chamber will host a food stand, with proceeds benefitting the chamber's Scholarship Fund. A Chamber-sponsored scholarship is given each year to a senior from Selinsgrove Area High School.
"We hope that the new additions to Antiques on the Avenue will pique the interest of local history buffs and even more collectors. We have a few spaces remaining for interested dealers and always welcome new vendors," said Helen Walter, co-chair of the event.
