The 20th Annual Convention Of The White Ironstone China Association Will Be Held May 1 To 4

April 14, 2014

The 20th annual convention of the White Ironstone China Association (WICA) will be held at the Wyndham Garden Exton-Valley Forge Hotel in Exton, Pa., located at 815 N. Pottstown Pike. It will take place Thursday to Sunday, May 1 to 4.
This year's activities will include a trip to Winterthur Museum in Delaware for a guided tour of its china and glass storage areas and a Big Band Dance on Friday. On Saturday, Bob Hohl will give a presentation on children's sets, and the popular “Show, Tell, Ask” program will be chaired by Patty Hurt and Rick Nielsen. The Olga and Tom Moreland collection presentation is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
Saturday will end with a live auction conducted by David Cordier and Ellen Miller of Cordier Auctions and Appraisals. The auction serves as a fundraiser for the WICA. Items of interest in the auction will include a footbath with dolphin handles (possibly John Edwards), a chestnut basket in Gothic by T & R Boote, and an unmarked syrup in Ivy Tree trunk. Pieces in the Laurel Wreath, Sydenham, and Ceres patterns will also be featured.
Additional opportunities to purchase White Ironstone will be available Sunday at the annual “Show and Sale,” the “Tops & Bottoms Sale,” and the “Flea Market.”
The WICA Shop will be open at various times throughout the weekend for members to purchase the newest book available on Ironstone, titled "Illustrated Guide of White Ironstone China from A to Z." The book was compiled by Bev and Ernie Dieringer from over 30 years of research.
The convention is open to WICA members.
