Wilson's Auctioneers And Appraisers Will Hold Diverse Antique Catalog Sale On May 20

Wilson's Auctioneers and Appraisers are pleased to announce their upcoming catalog auction to be held at their Chester Heights, Pa., gallery on Wednesday, May 20, starting at 2 p.m., with live online bidding through liveauctioneers. The diverse sale will feature coins, estate jewelry, porcelain, fine art, collectibles, and much more.
Among the paintings will be an unusual oil-on-canvas by Fernando Amersolo from 1952 titled "Mango Vendor Girl." The 16-by-20-inch work inscribed on reverse "for Eliz. Mapes" is estimated at $15,000-$20,000. A Kathe Schmidt Kollwitz charcoal drawing measuring 24-by-18.5-inches, titled "Mother & Son" is estimated at $10,000-$15,000. Also up for sale are two three-dimensional Pop Art works by Charles Fazzino, the signed 28-by-34-inch "Welcome to the Fabulous Las Vegas” estimated at $700-$1,000, and the signed 17-by-27-inch "Uptown, Downtown & All Around The Town" estimated at $500-$700. Allen Saalburg, a Bucks County, Pa., illustrator, is the artist of a 24.5-by-20-inch "Independence Hall" gouache-on-board painting estimated at $500-$1,000.
For coin collectors, Wilson’s will have 90 lots of coins from an impressive collection. The collection includes 14 1989 American Gold Eagle $50 coins, each with an estimated value of $1,100-$1,300 and containing an ounce of gold. Other coins will include an 1885 Liberty nickel estimated at $1,100-$1,400, a 1907 No Motto $20 St. Gaudens Gold Coin estimated at $1,200-$1,400, a 1916 Mercery dime estimated at $500-$600, a 1794 large cent coin estimated at $450-$600, and an 1885 Liberty nickel estimated at $450-$500.
For buyers of fine jewelry, a six-inch ladies platinum diamond and sapphire bracelet, estimated at $3,000-$4,000, will be offered. Also included in this sale is a ladies 14-carat white gold diamond ring with 15 round full cut diamonds that have a total weight of approximately 2.60 carats, all set in four prong white gold heads. The ring is estimated at $2,500-$3,000. Other rings will include a ladies 14-carat white gold diamond engagement ring with a round brilliant cut diamond, estimated at $1,500-$2,000, a ladies 14-carat white gold diamond engagement ring with an oval shaped old mine cut diamond, estimated at $1,200-$1,500, as well as two ruby and diamond rings and several other diamond rings. Also in the sale will be an antique ladies 14-carat rose gold Ollendorf watch with round full cut diamonds and round rubies. It is estimated at $800-$1,200.
This sale will features many crystal, china, and porcelain pieces, such as a number of Borsato figurines including a 10-by-9-inch "Elder's Delight," a 10-by-8-inch "Child's Prayer" and a 5-by-10-inch "Traveler's Rest," each estimated at $500-$700. A lot of four colorful Bridgeton Art Glass paperweights and a Bridgeton vase have an estimated value of $200-$250. All five pieces are signed by the Bridgeton Studio.
This sale will also feature a 156-piece "Joan of Arc" International sterling silver flatware set weighing 177.80 ounces, estimated at $2,200-$3,000, and a five piece Whitehall sterling silver tea set including a teapot, coffeepot, creamer, sugar, and waste bowl, a total of 92 ounces, estimated at $1,200-$1,500.
Collectibles at this auction will include an R. John Wright's “Winnie the Pooh” pocket series collection nine piece set numbered 1750 out of 3000, estimated at $1,000-$1,500. A working 7.5-inch “Humpty Dumpty” mechanical clown bank from Shepard Hardware Company is estimated at $300-$500. Other items will include a blue 150th-year commemorative Kashan Faberge silk rug estimated at $500-$1,000, a four-gallon blue decorated stoneware crock estimated at $400-$600, a McCoy Liberty Bell Independence Hall umbrella stand estimated at $200-$300, a Moorcroft freesia bowl estimated at $200-$300, and a carved malachite hippo and covered box estimated at $150-$300.
