Birchwood Manor Summer Antiques Show
July 30, 31, And August 1
Longest Running JMK Show And Oldest Antiques Show In New Jersey

JMK Shows announces the Summer Antiques Show at Birchwood Manor just north of Morristown in Whippany, New Jersey, on July 30, 31, and August 1. The show includes a hundred exhibitors offering outstanding quality and variety, with a focus on affordable prices.
Antiques of all types will be on display, including American & Continental furnishings, silver, paintings, vintage fashions, Art Deco, lighting, jewelry, art glass, scientific instruments, watches, porcelain, and much more. The event encompasses every inch of space on Birchwood Manor’s expansive first floor - including two ballrooms, two cocktail lounges, and the Greenery.
“People love coming to Birchwood,” said Allison Kohler, Director of JMK Shows. “Besides the beautiful grounds, the chandeliers, and lunch in the outstanding dining room, coming to the Birchwood Manor Summer Antiques Show is a fabulous way to shop for a day in air-conditioned comfort. It’s a destination for show-goers.”
In addition to its distinguished roster of exhibitors, the show features an expert glass repair clinic, vintage trunk restoration clinic, a silver matching service, expert porcelain and pottery restoration by Louis Pirrello, and a certified appraisal clinic by Linda Roberts from White Orchid Appraisals, at just $5 per item. China mending service “while you wait” is available on Saturday and Sunday only.
Returning buyers will find a feast for the eyes with an array of antiques and collectibles for every taste level. Exhibitor highlights include one of the largest selections of fine working antique barometers in the United States, at the booth of Barometer Fair, Inc. The firm from Sarasota, Florida, has been buying, selling, and restoring antique barometers since 1979. Lisa Gaffney of Terra Mare in Sharon, Connecticut is a first-time exhibitor, bringing fine ceramics, art pottery, and decorative arts including Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Aesthetic Movement, Palissy ware and Majolica.
Seventeenth- through twentieth-century American and European art will be well-represented by The Art & Antique Gallery of Worcester, Massachusetts. The gallery’s Bill Union announced that he is now expanding his inventory to include Afro-American artists, due to customer demand. David and Nancy Crockett, from Artifacts, specialize in anything unusual and formal, including fine crystal, porcelain, art, and furniture dating from the eighteenth century through Modernism. Birchwood is one of Artifact’s favorite shows of the year.
Additional dealers include Jaffe & Thurston from Wawarsing, New York, and Oriental porcelain specialist Bernie Krauss. Leading the pack of fine jewelry dealers are Brad Reh, Lorraine Wambold, Joyce Groussman, and John Fahmie Jewelry. Among the hottest things in today’s marketplace are from the 60's, 70's, and 80's - well represented in this show.
Honesty, Integrity, Reputation, and Ethics are important components in all of our shows,” states Allison Kohler, Director of JMK Shows. “We want our customers to know that Birchwood Manor is one of the best places to buy. We’re thrilled about the long term success of the show, and we encourage the public to join us in celebrating four hundred years of antiques and design.” (Plans are well under way for winter show at Birchwood Manor on January 7, 8, 9, 2011.)
Show hours are noon to 8 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday; and 11 a.m to 5 p.m on Sunday. Admission is $8 ($7 with a copy of the ad).
