Magazine Ads Covered In New Volume

February 3, 2011

Collector Books (Paduch, KY) has released a colorful new volume, Old Magazine Advertisements, 1890-1950. The book, from the author of Old Magazines, is a pictorial history of products advertised in vintage magazines.
The author highlights that this field is one of the least expensive collectibles left - anyone can afford to collect them. They are easy to store (in loose leaf binders), they take up very little space, and they can be put on a shelf like a book. Over 1,100 color photographs of advertisements are featured in this bound-to-be-bestseller.
Coca-Cola and Cream of Wheat are two of the largest categories covered. Famous illustrators like Nor-man Rockwell and Maxfield Parrish did the work on some of these vintage ads, and their work can be seen throughout the pages of the book.
Look for it in bookstores, or visit Collector Books online at www.collectorbooks.com.
