Wallace Nutting Collectors Club Convention Set For May 5 And 6

April 20, 2017

The Wallace Nutting Collectors Club is once again looking forward to its annual convention. This year, it will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 530 Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Washington, Pa., on Friday and Saturday, May 5 and 6. A gathering of members from around the country will meet for an exciting and informational weekend. This annual convention is the premier gathering spot for anyone interested in collecting Wallace Nutting photos or furniture or hand-colored photos by other photographers.
Friday afternoon will begin with the annual Wallace Nutting auction. The preview starts at noon, and the auction begins at 2 p.m. The auction will contain many rare Wallace Nutting photos, books, furniture, and other early 20th-century hand-colored photos by artists such as Charles Sawyer, Fred Thompson, David Davidson, and others. The auction is open to the public.
Saturday’s agenda begins with the sale/trade show at 7:30 a.m., where club members set up at their most unusual photos and furniture pieces to sell or trade. There will be hundreds of items for sale. This show/sale is also open to the public. Next will be the annual club meeting and several interesting presentations by club members, followed by a tour of the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle in the afternoon.
The annual club dinner will be held at the hotel that evening, where friends can mingle and enjoy a relaxing meal. The hospitality suite will be open throughout most of the weekend with complimentary snacks and beverages and is a great place to meet and network with other collectors.
