Danish Table Sets New Mark

October 13, 2015

Danish furniture from the 1950s continues to gain popularity with a new generation of collectors and designers today. A 1952 dining table by Danish artist Peder Moos (1906-91) broke the world auction record for a piece of Nordic design. It sold for $922,759 at a Phillips auction in London in October. Moos designed a tea cart and a coffee table that were manufactured by Fritz Hansen, but he made all of the rest of his furniture himself.
