The D.C. Big Flea and Antiques Market has booked 600 booths of the D.C. Expo in Chantilly, Va., to be filled with inventories provided by exhibitors for the Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14 and 15, show, according to founder and manager Joan Sides. This edition of the five-times-yearly show is often considered the kickoff of the fall season in the East and gets a large attendance of shoppers due to easy access by ground and air, being minutes from I-95 and Dulles Airport.

Sides has often said the September show marks the time of year things ramp up for her customers and exhibiting dealers. It is a popular show for decorators and homeowners looking to make fresh decorating changes and updates.
The next Big Flea will be held Saturday and Sunday, Nov 2 and 3. Featured exhibitors will include Virginia dealer Diane Kidwell with her collection of Georgian and American Federal furniture alongside North Carolina dealer Robert Hays, who will be offering a collection of Mission furniture as well as some Modern and Mid-Century material.
Sides will have the D.C. Expo filled with others offering antique estate jewelry, Victorian home décor, antique textiles and vintage fashions, just to name a few. Expect the first appearances of Christmas decorations, as well, notably from the Village Antiques of Syracuse, N.Y.
The D.C. Big Flea and Antiques Market is held at Dulles Expo Center at 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, Va., just off Route 28 between I-66 and Route 50. Show hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10, good for both days, and parking is free.
