Hartzell's To Conduct On-Site Sale In Sparta, N.J., On May 4 And 5

Antique Cars, Petroliana, Advertising, Toys, And More To Be Sold At Large Single-Owner Auction

Hartzell's Auction Gallery Inc. will conduct a two-day on-site auction of the lifetime collection of William Wilson of Sparta, New Jersey. The 1,100-plus items will include antique automobiles, an array of petroliana, toys, advertising, country primitives, and more. All items will be offered without reserve and sold to the highest bidder on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5.
The automobile category will include a 1918 Cadillac Type 57 (seven passengers), 1915 Ford Model T Touring, 1933 GMC truck, 1930 International (rack body), 1918 Autocar Canopy Express truck, 1941 Mack pick-up truck, 1930 Ford Model A (two-door sedan), 1930 International dump body, 1930 Hahn Coal truck, 1929 Ford Model A (roadster pick-up), 1923 Chevrolet four-door sedan, and 1917 Ford Model T (pick-up truck).
Over 20 gas, oil, and air pumps will be sold, such as Gilbert & Barker Visible, Gas Boy, Bennett, Wayne, Rapidayton, Tokheim, Erie, Veedol, Texaco, Gold Crown Gasoline, Dayton, Bowser, Gilbarco, and others. Globes will include Sky-Chief, Sinclair, Ashland, Ford, Indian, and Socony, among others.
Coin-operated scales will include Ace, Watling, Jennings, American, and others. The toy category is vast. The collection has pressed steel, cast-iron, tin litho, friction, wind-up, and battery-operated, by brands such as Smith-Miller, Buddy L, Keystone, Arcade, Marx, Schuco, Hubley, Wolverine, Jaeger, Metalcraft, Wyandotte, Kenton, and many others. Also, five pedal tractors, miniature steam engine models, Lionel trains, still banks, big bang cannons, and Gilbert erector sets will be sold.
Country items are to include store display cases, stack bookcases (Lundstrom, Globe-Wernicke), an oak national cash register, oak time clocks, large painted armoire, Edison phonographs, kerosene lamps, lanterns, sleigh bells, N.J. dairy milk bottles, and so much more. There will be an oil can collection, porcelain/tin license plates, railroad items, and tons of advertising signs.
Of special mention will be an 1895 Rider and Ericsson hot air pump engine, a Walt Disney mural (depicts signing of the Constitution), two Buddy L outdoor train sets, a Koken barber chair, a Regina table top music box, and a Royal Worcester Mack bulldog.
