Large Spring Auction At Cordier To Be Held May 21 And 22
Fine Jewelry, Silver, Coins, And Furnishings Will Be Among Offerings
The two-day auction will begin with jewelry, coins and silver. More than 200 lots of jewelry will include over 50 pairs of cufflinks including precious and semi-precious stones and figural designs which are certain to please buyers. Other jewelry offerings will be an 8.91 CTW diamond duette (est. $8,000-$12,000) and a coral and emerald pin representing Buddha. In pocket watches, an 18 karat Vacheron Constantine and two 18 karat Patek Philippes (est. $1,500-$2,000 each) will be offered. A gleaming array of silver includes more than a dozen flatware sets from Reed & Barton, Wallace, Towle, Roger & Bro., Alvin, and Gorham. Also across the block will be numerous lots of Tiffany, Whiting, Kirk, and Steiff.
More than 100 lots of a single-owner (pre-ban) ivory collection will include figures, tusks, snuffs, netsukes, and a 24-inch tall carved ivory figure of a phoenix in foliage (est. $2,000-$3,000). A single-owner Waterford collection that was featured in an issue of Waterford Reflections will feature more than 30 lots including a 19-inch covered urn vase. Glass will also feature a Royal Flemish lidded vase (est. $2,000-$3,000). In other collectibles, will be two fully restored vehicles - a 1984 Monte Carlo and a 1986 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck.
Art will include a Peter Lik (Nevada/Australia, b. 1959) photograph print titled "Santorini Terrace" (est. $2,000-$4,000) and a screen print titled "Campbells Soup Can on Shopping Bag" by Andy Warhol (1928-87) estimated at $700-$1,000. Furnishings include a beautifully inlaid J.C. Jennens tall case clock (est. $3,000-$5,000) and a Masterworks by Stickley bombé chest-on-chest, part of the Williamsburg Reserve collection numbered 64 of a limited production run of 90.
