Locati's First Sale Of 2019 Delivered Strong Prices In Chinese Porcelain

February 22, 2019

Locati LLC of Maple Glen, Pa., presented its first online-only sale of 2019 from Jan. 7 to 21. The January sale exceeded expectations, according to Michael Locati.
“We were happy to offer a scarce signed and numbered Picasso print,” said Locati. “The print sold above the high estimate at $3,100. A group of three Chinese peach bloom glaze vases also sold well at $2,000,” commented Locati.
Furniture in the January sale also fared well. According to Locati, the right furniture is still selling. “A pair of French Empire-style plant stands sold for $950 with a $500 to $700 estimate," said Locati.
There were over 5,000 registered bidders from over 60 countries. “We also sold over 86 percent of the lots offered.”
