The Old Morgantown Glass Collectors Show and Sale is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, at the Westover VFW Hall in Morgantown, W.Va. The show hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The group will hold a glass auction on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the VFW, located at 340 Holland Ave., Westover (Morgantown). Both members and non-members are invited. Free parking is available. A pizza, pasta, and salad dinner banquet will be offered at 6:30 p.m. (reservations required).
The auction will include items from many different manufacturers. Some items will include a large 11.5-inch Viking teal bird covered candy dish; a graduated color Blenko 18-inch vase; and a Morgantown compote, green jewel node with melon sliced indents, measuring 8.5 inches tall.
Two seminars will be held over the weekend. On Saturday, at 1 p.m., Jim Wiley will give a presentation on “Advertising in Glass.” On Sunday, at 1 p.m., Max Blackmore will give a presentation on “Chocolate Glass.” Both seminars are free of charge.
