This year the Batsto Village Antiques and Bottle Show will be slightly different. The show will take place both Sunday, May 20, and Sunday, Sept. 30. This is the third year a spring show will be held and 35 years for the fall. Both will be held at historic Batsto Village in Wharton State Forest in Hammonton, N.J. Presented by the Batsto Citizens Committee Inc., the hours for the May 20 show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Holding a bottle show at the historic village makes sense. After the iron furnaces went cold, Batsto produced glass. Sand, mixed with shells found there, and the trees for fuel, made it an ideal location for the glass blowing industry. How fitting that glass makes a return to Batsto, if only for an antiques show.
The antiques and bottles will be sharing the fields of Batsto in conjunction with the Cruisin’ Classic Auto Club Show. Food trucks will be available.
