Victorian Casino Antiques Fall Auction Continues To Attract Record Prices

Over 400 people attended the Victorian Casino Antiques Fall Auction at the Alexis Park Hotel Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bidding was spirited on the large array of slot machines, advertising items, brass cash registers, and mid-century arcade games.
Some of the highlights of the sales included: a coin-op working model, "The Execution," $19,250; Brunswick "Del Monte" backbar with liquor cabinet, fully restored, $66,000; 5 cent "Caille Eclipse" upright with rare vendor, $38,500; H.C. Evans "Big Six" wheel, $7,975; cast-iron 1923 Case Eagle on stand, $7,700; circa 1914 Industry Novelty floor model gum vendor, with music, $20,900; Early Bicycle Wheel 5 cent trade stimulator machine $6,600; and a 1906 "Watling Jefferson" Counter Wheel Machine $5,775.
Victorian Casino Antiques has three auctions planned for 2008: March 8 and 9, 2008, at the Alexis Park Hotel Resort; August 30, at the Flamingo Hotel in connection with the Music Box Society international convention; and September 20 and 21, at the Alexis Park Hotel Resort.
The March 8 and 9, 2008, auction will be very special, according to Peter Sildow of Victorian Casino Antiques, "We have received a consignment of a large collection of coffee grinders, both original and restored as well as a number of rare restored gas pumps. Furthermore, this auction will feature arcade items from the World Famous Musée Mecanique in San Francisco, California."
