Christmas At The Emporium
This holiday season, the Emporium display case will contain items from enhancing a train platform to holiday decorations for the dining room table. Customers can view the display case from Friday, Nov. 27, through the end of January. On Black Friday, the holiday courtyard lights will be turned on. Over 5,000 lights will light the way into the group shop that dates back to the the early 1900s and is filled with items from the early 1800s to the collectibles of today.
For convenience, the Emporium will stay open an extended hour every Thursday and Friday, until 7 p.m., starting Black Friday through Christmas. Also, Santa will stop by two times before Christmas - on Friday, Dec. 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Customers are encouraged to bring their camera. Retired school teachers and Emporium dealers Maggie Barber and Laura Schreubers will offer holiday craft projects for the children visiting Santa on those days while their parents are shopping.
Last year, the Emporium dealers and generous customers filled two boxes for the Marines Toys for Tots program. Boxes have arrived, and hopefully with help, this feat can be repeated or increased. Customers are encouraged to bring unopened toy donations.
For those who dislike fighting for a parking spot or mall crowds, the Emporium is the place to shop. It has ample parking on the street and also a large lot next to the building. Located at 424 High St. in Burlington City, N.J., the Emporium is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. each Thursday and Friday through Christmas. Complimentary coffee and snacks are always available.
All of the Emporium dealers wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
