The Stahls Pottery Preservation Society will present the 16th annual Autumn Pottery Festival on Saturday, Oct. 7. The show will run rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Historic Stahls Pottery in Powder Valley. The GPS address is 6826 Corning Road, Zionsville, Pa. Admission is $5 and free of charge for those 18 years old or under. There is not Stahl pottery for sale at this event. The preservation group hosts the show and does conduct tours of the pottery site, the wood-fired kiln, and the Thomas and Alice Stahl House Museum, where Stahl pottery is on display. The preservation group does have books for sale, redware ornaments, and both T-shirts and hats. There will also be home baked goods for sale and refreshments. The show itself consists of 30 contemporary potters selling their work. There will be redware, stoneware, porcelain, raku, and other types of earthenware. Pottery demonstrations by several exhibiting potters will take place. Proceeds from this show go to the preservation and ongoing restoration of the Stahls Pottery site.
