Thomas Attix Jr., whowas a lifelong collector of American material culture with a particular fondness for furniture, coin silver, and Oriental rugs. His collection reflects his interest in the Delaware Valley, with an emphasis on mid-18th through early 19th century silversmiths and figured hardwoods vetted by his discerning eye for form and surface. Among the highlights are a Thomas Stretch Philadelphia tall clock, a collection of figured maple furniture, and silver by noted makers such as Joseph Richardson Sr. andRichard Humphreys.There are over 60 lots of American silver from the late 17th centuryto the 19th century.
