Elverson Show Grows Amid Changing Marketplace

Next Show Planned For June 15 And 16 At Original Spot, Twin Valley High School

November 17, 2023

The Elverson Antique Show, held Oct. 28 and 29, welcomed 46 antiques dealers and hundreds of visitors. Due to a last-minute scheduling conflict with the availability of the Twin Valley High School gym, where this popular semiannual show takes place, the show was moved to the Twin Valley Elementary Center, located roughly 1 mile away from the old location. Ads were changed (including show cards), mass emails were sent, and social media posts all noted the late venue change. Signage along the road was posted, directing visitors to the Elementary Center, where the show was spread out through the modern building in the gym, cafeteria, and hallways. There were still some show goers who went to the old location and those who couldn't find the new one; however, the forced change in location worked out well. A floor plan map was given to attendees, and the exhibitors did an exceptional job presenting their quality offerings. Comments received on the new location were mixed, yet most easily found the elementary school and loved the show. Most important, sales were good. Shoppers strolling through the show found treasures at every turn. Dealers filled their booths with stoneware, textiles, cookie cutters, folk art, fraktur, early iron, wooden ware, decoys, china, ceramics, sewing items, baskets, butter prints, paintings, toys, furniture, coverlets, quilts, painted smalls, advertising items, and more. There was something for everyone, with prices ranging from $5 to four figures. The majority of dealers reported good sales, and many customers walked out with purchases, as well as newfound knowledge. In addition to Pennsylvania, dealers came from Maine, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Iowa, and Missouri. The merchandise brought by the dealers reflected a wide variety of items to appeal to any decorating taste. The spring edition of the Elverson Antique Show is being planned for Saturday and Sunday, June 15 and 16, 2024. It will be held at the original location, Twin Valley High School, which is located at 4897 Twin Valley Road, Elverson, Pa. It is within easy driving distance of Philadelphia, just off Exit 298 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Proceeds from the show benefit the boys' lacrosse team, whose members provide invaluable assistance setting up the booths and portering for the dealers. It's not too early to mark calendars to attend this high-quality antique show. The photos represent a small example of what was offered at the show.
