Just Treats This Halloween At Pook & Pook's Fall Unreserved Online-Only Coins And Jewelry Auction

No tricks, just treats this Halloween at Pook & Pook Inc. as the auction house presents its biggest ever Online-Only Coins and Jewelry Auction, to be held on Thursday, Oct. 31. Beginning at the not-so-eerie hour of 9 a.m., almost 1,000 lots will cross the block, from distinctive pieces of fine jewelry to large groups of collectible coins and currency from around the globe. Collections from a variety of local estates comprise the bulk of this unreserved sale, with many items hitting the market for the first time in several decades.
The sale will open with fine jewelry, with pieces offered in a variety of price ranges. Sterling silver jewelry and costume pieces are plentiful, as are numerous lots of antique and modern watches. Several men’s Rolex oyster perpetual datejust wristwatches are included in the sale. Two Cartier 18-carat gold wristwatches ($3,000-$5,000 and $2,200-$2,600) are sure to draw the attention of a few discerning buyers.
Over 50 pocket watches are also included in the jewelry section of the sale. Several pretty platinum pieces of jewelry will draw an astute crowd. Many lots comprised of various pieces of gold jewelry will include groupings of 10-carat, 14-carat, and 18-carat gold. Featured rings include a handful of stunning diamond engagement rings and sparkly gold bands. The star in the sale is expected to be a 14-carat gold diamond wedding set estimated at $7,000-$9,000. Gold, silver, gemstone, and diamond necklaces, earrings, rings, and more, including several pieces by Tiffany and Verdura, round out the jewelry portion of the sale.
To follow in the sale are all manner of collectible coins and currency. Of special note are a number of foreign gold coins, including two 10 Columbia five peso gold coins ($2,800-$3,200), four Mexico 1959 20 peso gold coins ($2,400-2,800), four South Africa 1980 gold Krugerrands ($4,400-$5,200), six British George V gold sovereigns ($2,000-$2,200), and five Austria 1915 four Ducat gold coins ($1,800-$2,200). American gold currency includes American Eagles, Liberty Eagles, Liberty Head 20 dollars, Saint Gaudens 20 dollars, and many more.
Other U.S. coins include silver dimes, silver quarters, silver dollars, as well as Kennedy half dollars, Walking Liberty half dollars, and Morgan and Peace silver dollars. Proof sets, uncirculated pieces, and foreign currency will also be featured in, with some surprises along the way. Numismatists are invited to preview each and every item during the three days of gallery preview to find that missing piece in their collection.
