After Four Month Hiatus, Popular Monthly Antiques Show Resumes
By Tom O’Hara - August 07, 2020
Scott Antiques Market halted for months and is now ready to return to monthly action. Don Scott announced on behalf of his exhibitors, shoppers and staff that his monthly show will resume Thursday, Aug. 6, to Sunday, Aug. 9, at Atlanta Expo Centers (North and South Buildings). Speaking on behalf of his company and the 3,000 exhibitors that set up each month, All the dealers have been chomping at the bit to get back to work and again sell their antiques, home dcor and vintage collectibles, said Scott. He was quick to point out, Even with no shows, dealers continued to buy more collections, so this first show after the nearly five months will have wonderful offerings of first-time-on-the-market collections. The monthly show is held in two enormous buildings with 3,000 dealers and their extensive inventories with typically several thousand shoppers over the course of four days. Due to the social protections brought about by the COVID 19 restrictions, there will be some different measures taken. Everyone will be expected to wear face masks or safety shields. Scott has purchased a large quantity of safety glasses, which will be offered to all until the supply runs out. The buildings have been sanitized, and extra cleaning staff has been hired to maintain a safe and sanitary environment during the show. Scotts Atlanta market had been running every month for 34 years, attracting dealers from all over the country, not just within the local area. It has proven to be a great buying and selling venue, held on the second Saturday weekend, and Scott is thrilled to resume the popular event. The Expo Centers are located at 3650 Jonesboro Road, Atlanta, Ga., just off I-285. For additional information, call 740-569-2800 or visit www.scottantiquemarket.com.
