The Great Allentown Fair will host its first annual Bid Calling Contest on Friday, Sept. 2, at the Astound Broadband Farmarama Theater. The theater is near Gate 6 on the fairgrounds complex, and the contest will take place at 7 p.m. The fairgrounds are located at 302 N. 17th St., Allentown, Pa. This event is sponsored by the Lehigh County Agricultural Society, Prospect Auctions LLC, and the Lehigh Valley Society of Auctioneers. The first-place winner will receive $300, an embroidered purple champion vest, their name on the perpetual trophy, and a fair ribbon. The second-place winner will receive $150 and a fair ribbon.
