Brimfield Returns At Full Strength For July
July 09, 2021
Brimfield Antiques Week, the world-famous antiques markets in Brimfield, Mass., will return Tuesday to Sunday, July 13 to 18, at a full-strength capacity, meaning all shows/fields are participating during their traditional times for this weeklong event. Lori Faxon, co-owner of Tuesdays opening field Dealers Choice and Faxons Midway, said Bookings for our shows are very strong for July. Her comments were echoed by all of the show field owners interviewed. Gordon Reeds Auction Acres, formerly J & J, felt that the July show may possibly exceed what has been typical for May shows in the past. Their field was the only show during the traditional May date this year operating with restrictions, but those polled who did participate, sold well. There is a pent-up demand to get back to doing shows; dealers, collectors, and decorators all feel an urgency now for the July events, according to Kathy Corriveau. In 2019, she and her husband, Rusty, added an early show called Treasure Trunk Tuesday to accompany their regular Friday and Saturday event, Brimfield Auction Acres. Hertans, opening noon on Wednesday with new owner Klia Ververidis, has been pleased with how many dealers are booked to set up. Martha May of Mays Antiques Show, opening Thursday morning, said many May dealers usually skip July, but she has heard from many of them asking for their May spaces for the July show. In addition, many dealers are asking for extra space to accommodate inventories collected in the nearly two years since the last Brimfield. Brimfield is traditionally held three times a year, in May, July, and September. Brimfield Antiques Flea Market Week has over 20 participating fields, many opening Tuesday, others Wednesday through Friday. Each field is individually owned. There is one central online site with details at www.brimfieldantiquefleamarket.com. Be sure to wear good walking shoes. Happy antiquing!
