Burlington Emporium Antiques Show Slated For May 22
May 13, 2022
The Historic Burlington Antique and Art Emporiums Spring Antique Show and Garden Market will take place Sunday, May 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Spring Show was last held in 2019. Besides the show, shoppers will find complimentary food and music and have an opportunity to meet the Emporium dealers. Twenty-plus antique dealers will set up in front of the Emporium and in the adjacent parking lot. The show is free of charge to the public. On a first visit to the Emporium, shoppers eyes tend to travel upward toward the very high ceiling, and many ask, What was this building built for? Built by Edward Supper between 1917-24, it was the Nash Dealership used to repair and maintain automobiles Supper sold. Today, the building is home to 65-plus antique dealers selling items from the early 1800s to the collectibles of today. The Emporium is a unique building with a 40-foot courtyard. In the spring, the Emporium dealers fill this space with items that will enhance any garden, such as jardinieres, cement creatures, outdoor furniture, iron fencing, plants and flowers. Unusual plants with beautiful colors in strawberry pots and hanging baskets will adorn the courtyard, a true gardeners paradise. Auctioneer Chris Doerner and his wife, Elaine, of 21st Century Antiques, have graciously agreed to offer evaluations at the show between 1 and 3 p.m. (limit of three items per shopper). A $5 donation, going to the Mitchell Fire Co., is recommended for the evaluations. For questions, call Doerner at 609-877-6843. The Emporium is located half a mile from the Burlington - Bristol Bridge at 424 High St. in Burlington City, N.J., and open six days a week from Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursdays and Fridays until 7 p.m. For more information, call 609-747-8333. Happy antiquing!
