June 18, 2021
The CAS Collectors are a group for those with an interest in the work of the Ceramic Arts Studio. The club has announced the 2021 CAS Collectors Convention is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 28, in Madison, Wis. The theme, A Silver Salute!, celebrates the groups 25th Convention and the history of Ceramic Arts Studio. CAS creations brightened homes from coast to coast during the 1940s and 50s, and have continued to brighten collectors hearts ever since. From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Alliant Energy Center, convention attendees will take in the Wisconsin Pottery Association Show and Sale. Later, all will gather at the Madison Plaza Hotel for the convention festivities. Activities and dcor will pay tribute to the studios illustrious heritage. There will be party favors and take-home souvenirs, along with many door prizes, colorful centerpieces, and, in short, everything that makes such a gathering so unforgettable and popular. Getting the evening underway will be a social hour and the popular CAS on Display Contest. All in attendance are invited to submit entries. A plated dinner, raffle, and membership meeting will be followed by the clubs annual auction, featuring the Sara Preez collection. Events will conclude with door prizes and the presentation of the 2021 CAS Collectors Commemorative. Convention registration, which is $60 per person, includes all evening activities, plus the commemorative. Registrations will be accepted up until two weeks prior to the event. New this year is an auction-only registration for $20 for those unable to attend the entire evening. Forms and further information are available on the clubs website, www.cascollectors.com.
