Cheers To 18 Years For The Rivertowne Antique Center
Special Anniversary Sale Set For June 24, 25, And 26
June 24, 2022
Party on, as Rivertowne Antique Center in historic Columbia, Pa., celebrates its original grand opening in June of 2004 with a big 18th-year anniversary sale event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 24, 25, and 26. Back then, starting an antique business in Columbia was truly a pioneering business adventure, says co-owner Ron Madar. And boy how things have changed here since we helped kick-start real revitalization in town. Columbia has become the new destination in the region for antiques, vintage and collectibles, with a number of multi-dealer shops now open in the historic river town. During this special sale weekend, shoppers will find great discounts of up to 50 percent off items in the store. Rivertowne is home to 90 dealers and consignors offering a huge selection of authentic 18th-, 19th- and 20th-century items. Quality folk art, painted country furniture, primitives, Americana, glassware, stoneware, advertising trade signs, general store merchandise, mid-century and industrial pieces and decorative smalls are all there. Located along the banks of the Susquehanna River in the 129-year-old Bachman-Forry tobacco warehouse (listed on the National Registry of Historic Places), Rivertowne is a wonderful restored four-story brick, stone and timber structure providing a great atmosphere in which to shop for antiques. Browse through two floors of quality merchandise from the countrys past. Co-owner Georgia Townsend says, Make sure to check out the second floor Sun Room that features the famous 1930s Sun Restaurant counter, stools, fountain and stainless backsplash that we saved and transplanted from downtown Lancaster 20 years ago. During the three-day anniverary sale, dont miss the opportunity to find that unique item at a great price. Rivertowne is conveniently located off Route 30. Shop goers can take the Columbia/Marietta exit and the new Front Street/River Road downtown bypass or follow Third Street into town, turn right on Locust, go a block and a half and turn left onto Bank Avenue. There is plenty of free parking at the shop, located at 125 Bank Ave. Gift certificates, layaway and shipping are available. Dealers, decorators and designers are always welcome. Come see this great multi-dealer shop down by the river. For further information, call 717-684-8514 or visit Facebook.com/RivertowneAntiques.
