Chinese Kangxi Brush PotLeads Locatis Auction Bringing $18,755

By Karl Pass - February 09, 2024

Locati LLC, located in Bucks County, Pa., ended the year with good results for its monthly online-only sale, which included a Kangxi brush pot garnering international interest. The small Kangxi porcelain pot realized $18,775. Prices reported include buyers premium. Our goal is to put together interesting sales each month. I felt like there were a lot of unusual items in this auction, like a pair of Korean wedding chests with horn veneer, a pair of Continental bamboo and rattan Parisian-style lounge chairs, and a barbell form Asprey cocktail shaker, just to name a few, commented Michael Locati. Also highlighted in the results was a small Japanese satsuma censer that brought $6,720, a pair of Spanish Colonial Sagrada Familia figures ($3,875), and an oil painting after Michael Gortskin Wywiorsky (1861-1926) that went for $4,864. From September to June, Locati LLC holds these monthly online auctions, which begin on the first Sunday of the month and end with a live auction after two weeks of online bidding.
