Bob Dylan at Philharmonic Hall Only New York Concert Appearance on Saturday, October 31st at 8:30 is estimated at $7,000-$10,000. This first printing poster, one of the earliest concert posters in his career, was produced for one of the musicians most important shows in his early career, signaling a transition from war protest music to a more personal sound. Ephemera with ties to the Beatles is also expected to take the spotlight in this auction. Many examples are from the collection of concert organizer and the former director of marketing and promotions for VH1, Bo Overlock. A complete set of four life-size posters of The Beatles is estimated at $1,000-$2,000. They were published in London by Fan Foto around 1963. These rare unbacked posters are based on images taken from The Beatles appearance on ABC-TVs Ed Sullivan Show. A signed photo of John Lennon is estimated at $1,000-$2,000. This black and white image from the 1960s is inscribed by Lennon near the lower left corner: To Joanna from John Lennon. Props from some of the worlds most celebrated films will also headline this sale. A waist belt worn by Ian Keith as Rameses I in The Ten Commandments is estimated at $2,500-$3,500. This belt, worn in the classic movie directed by Cecil B. DeMille in 1956, is decorated with an Egyptian gold medallion. It is framed in a shadowbox with six scenes from the film showing the belt. Auntie Ems coffeepot from MGMs 1939 The Wizard of Oz is estimated at $6,000-$8,000. This screen-used gray enamel coffeepot has a hinged lid and was seen in the twister black-and-white sequences in the classic film. The pot is visible when Dorothy runs through the kitchen searching for her family while the tornado is approaching. It was originally purchased from the 1970 MGM movie prop auction. Now lets focus on this events robust selections of decade-spanning comic books. There are 16 issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, estimated at $2,000-$3,000. This Silver Age Marvel Comics Group collection from 1966-67 is ungraded and includes numbers 39-48 and 50-56. One lot of The Amazing Spider-Man Volume I Nos. 2-10 is estimated at $3,000-$5,000. This Marvel Comics collection from ca. 1963-64 is ungraded, bagged, and boarded. They were written by Stan Lee and feature art by John Duffy and Steve Ditko. This series includes the first appearances of the Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Doctor Doom, The Lizard, and Electro. This cant-miss event rounds out with intriguing selections of pop culture ephemera, sports collectibles, Disneyana, and other cross-category finds, including a complete collection of all 20 commemorative James Bond-themed Swatch watches in their aluminum collectors briefcase. The grouping is estimated at $4,000-$6,000. Included are all the original boxes for each watch and the original collection brochure.
