Fishersville Antiques Expo Set For May 8 And 9 Popular Event Set For 76th Edition

By Karl Pass - April 17, 2026

Every semiannual Fishersville Antiques Expo marks the achievement of a new milestone in some way. Last fall, Fishersville marked its 75th edition of the show, reinforcing its reputation as one of the longest running indoor/outdoor antique shows in the Mid-Atlantic region. Over the years, Fishersville has maintained a multitude of quality dealers and a broad, diverse customer base. Folks who know Fishersville know the foundation of this success is based on two noteworthy factors: legacy and loyalty. How does legacy fit into the Fishersville story? In 1986, when antique enthusiasts Ray and Martha Stokes and their partners decided there was an opportunity to become part of what had become a lucrative market, they formed a company called Heritage Promotions, the name ironically and unwittingly portending the legacy of Fishersville. Over the years, the Stokes children became helpers at the shows, whether manning the front desk or directing traffic. In 2019, their daughter, Lesley, became an owner and assumed many aspects of the business operations. And with that came the third Stokes generation, and her children became helpers. Now, in its 40th year, the Fishersville legacy continues as the Stokes prepare for the 76th show. But their story is not the only one to be told. Many dealers possess longstanding, multigenerational relationships that closely mirror the history of the Stokes family. Many dealers, who during their youth assisted their parents as dealers at Fishersville, have now become dealers in their own right. And some individuals who previously attended Fishersville as shoppers with their parents are now dealers themselves. This is where the legacy overlays loyalty. Many of these dealers have been setting up shop at Fishersville for years. One of the most loyal Fishersville customers of all time attended the 75th show last fall. Her name is Kitty, and she lives a little over two hours away. Kitty has attended every show since it started in 1986. Now, at 94, her daughter brings her to Fishersville to shop. That is a remarkable achievement and endorsement. The 76th Fishersville Antiques Expo will take place at Augusta Expo Event Center, 277 Expo Road, Fishersville, Va., on Friday, May 8 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and Saturday, May 9 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Admission is $10 per person on Friday (includes early shopping and two-day access) and $5 on Saturday. Tickets are available only at the gate, rain or shine, and parking is included.
