H.K. Keller Celebrates 65 Years Of Service, Legacy, And Community Impact From A Farm Field In 1941 To A Multi-Generational Real Estate And Auction Company Serving Pennsylvania And Beyond
December 26, 2025
H.K. Keller Real Estate and Auctions proudly celebrates its 65th anniversary, a milestone rooted in family, faith, integrity, and a lifelong passion sparked by a single childhood moment. The story began in 1941, when a young boy named Harold Keller stood in a farm field watching an auction that would change his life. He was captivated not only by the rhythm and excitement of the auctioneers voice but by an extraordinary sight: the auctioneer landed his airplane right in the field before the sale. But what stayed with Harold even more than the airplane or the fast talk was a simple act of kindness: At the end of the sale, the auctioneer called out to a group of boys, telling them to get anything they wanted from the food stand and he would pay for it. That day planted a seed of calling and generosity that would grow into the company now known as H.K. Keller, established in 1960 when Harold and his wife packed their station wagon, drove 1,041 miles from Mount Joy, Pa., to Mason City, Iowa, and enrolled at the Reisch Auction College. Within the year, Harold began building a business founded on three simple principles that still guide the company today: Enjoy what you do, treat people the way you want to be treated, and keep the main thing the main thing. Harolds early auctions were small, community-centered events selling furniture, household goods, and farms where neighbors gathered and kids played. But they were never just sales. They were moments of transition in peoples lives, and Harold believed deeply in walking beside families with honesty, respect, and compassion. As H.K. Keller expanded into real estate, personal property auctions, municipal asset sales, and specialty services, that same spirit remained the foundation. Today, the company is led by Harolds son, Tim Keller, alongside the third generation, Mike Keller and Andy Keller. Mike Keller leads the growth of real estate and auction services across Pennsylvania with innovative marketing, transparent processes, and results-oriented strategies rooted in customer experience. Andy Keller leads the Fundraising Auction Team, now partnering with more than 70 nonprofit organizations each year and helping them raise millions to support missions, scholarships, community development, and life-changing initiatives. Through high-energy benefit auctions, the Fundraising Auction Team brings generosity and joy together, turning events into unforgettable celebrations of impact. From traditional live auctions to modern online and simulcast bidding, H.K. Keller continues to innovate while staying true to the values that shaped the company for 65 years. On its website, the company affirms a commitment to making the auction process simple, trustworthy, and effective for sellers and buyers alike, whether selling real estate, estates, collections, or municipal assets. Tonight, as we celebrate 65 years of H.K. Keller, were really celebrating people: our team, our clients, our partners, and our community, said Tim Keller. We are thankful to God. From that farmyard in 1941 to the work we do today, one thing has never changed: our heart for serving people with faith, integrity, and compassion. From local families transitioning to new chapters, to municipalities stewarding public assets responsibly, to nonprofits pursuing missions that matter, H.K.
