Hartzells Auction Gallery To Hold Three-Day Fine Antiques Sale

Over 1,400 Lots To Be Sold Oct. 19, 20, And 21 In Bangor, Pa.

Hartzells Auction Gallery of Bangor, Pa., will be offering 1,400-plus lots of country and primitive antiques, artwork and rugs, art glass and pottery, advertising and toys, quilts and coverlets, folk art and outsider art, plus much more over three days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Oct. 19, 20, and 21. Items are sourced from several prominent Pennsylvania and New Jersey collections. There will be blue decorated stoneware, redware, mochaware, yelloware, spongeware, copper, tin, and brassware, cast-iron cookware, decoys, baskets, paint-decorated boxes, quilts, coverlets, toleware, wallpaper boxes, samplers, mangle boards, footstools, andirons, early lighting, cookie cutters, wooden sleds, butter prints, match holders, bottles, postcards, glass domes, shaving mugs, stained glass windows, to mention a few categories. A diverse range of furniture is in the sale, from country to Stickley and Roycroft. Tons of artwork will be sold from artists including Sterling Strauser, Dorothy Strauser, Jack Savitsky, Edna Palmer Engelhardt, Robert Doney, Bill Gothard, Dan Campanelli, Abraham Hulk, Jacques Deveau, C.E. Foster, William Henry Hilliard, Arthur Fuller, Milne Ramsey, George Mueller, Frederick Naegele, L.F. Brute, Del Forsloff, Louis Larsen, Harry Schaare, Paul R. Koehler, Walter Shirlaw, F.C. Herbst and others. In the art glass and art pottery category will be a Tiffany Studios turtleback lamp, Steuben, Quezal, Daum Nancy, Galle, Loetz, Moser, Vandermark, Amberina, Grueby, Weller, Van Briggle, Fulper, Rookwood, Roseville, and more. A range of antique advertising, toys, folk art, and outsider art will round out the strong three-day line-up. The auction gallery is open to the public for preview Tuesday to Friday, Oct. 12 to 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Preview of items will also be available the morning of each auction day. The sale will be conducted with an audience in the gallery as well as participants bidding online facilitated by liveauctioneers.com. Absentee bids will also be accepted.
