Day one, beginning at 9:30 a.m., promises to be a landmark event and features the important bottle and flask collection of the late Russell and Doris Evitt, Jackson, Calif. Highlights from the Evitt collection include a rare 8.75-inch yellow-toned amber Cathedral / Gothic pickle jar, attributed to the West Willington Glassworks (1814-72), West Willington, Conn., ex. Gardner collection; a brilliant yellow green Lacours Western figural bitters bottle; a California handled whiskey bottle of chestnut form in deep red amber, embossed NONPAREIL / TRADE MARK / KOLB & DENHARD / SAN FRANCISCO; and a GIII-16 Lancaster Cornucopia-Urn pictorial flask in medium sapphire blue, Lancaster Glass Works, Lancaster, N.Y. A medium amber California pictorial fire grenade of ribbed chestnut form retaining original printed label marked for the CALIFORNIA FIRE EXTINGUSHIER CO. of San Francisco is another highlight.
