June Elizabeth Gottshall (100), of Reinholds, Pa., passed away April 11 at home. Gottshall was the wife of Walter L. Gottshall, who passed away in 2018. June and Walter were well-known folk artists and were married in 1941. Walter was a woodcarver, and June painted the carvings. Since the early 1970s, the couple created hundreds upon hundreds of folk carvings which are highly regarded Pennsylvania German folk art. The two belonged to the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and exhibited at regional folk art shows. A member of Swamp Christian Fellowship Church, June will be dearly missed.
