James S. Davis Jr., an auctioneer and partner for 34 years with Barr/Davis Auctioneers LLC, passed away at the age of 63 on March 9. His real estate and extensive collections of antiques and personal property will be offered at a two-day on-site auction on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 11 and 12, starting at 2 p.m. both days. The auction will be held at 5124 Strasburg Road, Kinzers, Pa., and is being conducted by Barr/Davis Auctioneers LLC. Day one will feature tractors and lawn equipment, boats, fishing equipment, saddles and tack items, sleigh bells, branding irons, game mounts, 25-plus rifles and shotguns, duck decoys, cigar rollers and cutters, a tobacco sizing box, a rare Conestoga wagon wheel reamer, old butchering tools, large copper and butchering kettles, cannonball, axe head and arrow head collections, handcuffs and shackles, frog gigs, a bear trap, and much more.
