Locatis Online Sale Realizes Sizzling Results
Small Italian Mosaic Plaque Brings $6,000
March 06, 2020
Locati LLC of Maple Glen, Pa., presented its first online sale of 2020 from Jan. 6 to 20. With nearly 300 lots, this sale featured estate jewelry, fine art, furniture, silver and more from various collections and estates from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our January sale had a good selection of material from local collections and estates, said Michael Locati, co-owner of Locati LLC. Some pieces of better quality did many times our estimates. This included two micro mosaic plaques that sold for a total of $11,000 and an unusual gold and horn box that sold for over $6,000. Among the auction highlights included a 19th-century 18-carat gold and horn box, which realized $6,250, and a fine French Empire bed, which sold for $2,500. Although beds are generally poor sellers, the French Empire sold well. Our sell rate was over 88-percent for this sale. Hopefully this indicates the start of a turn-around for the market, added Locati. Locati LLC, located in suburban Philadelphia, specializes in downsizing and estate liquidation. Michael Locati, co-owner, enjoys identifying and marketing antiques for his clients.
