Long-Running Simple Goods Show Set For Nov. 4
Country And Primitives Show Is Held In Berlin, Ohio
October 06, 2023
The Simple Goods Early Country and Primitive Goods Show will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Heritage Community Center on Route 62 in Berlin, Ohio, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. With over 50 well-known dealers from across the country, every nook and cranny of the building will be full with country antiques. Even the lobby will host a dealer that will fill the space with great country cupboards. The show has experienced and knowledgeable dealers with a wide range of country antiques consisting of early American furniture in early paint and worn surface, Pilgrim-era antiques, and good country smalls. The show also offers USA-craftsman made primitives and holiday handmades, giving the November show a special holiday feel. The show maintains a Christmas-like atmosphere, and, according to many customers, it is their kickoff to Christmas shopping. For 17 years, the Simple Goods show has kept the original intentions and traditions of the show alive, offering a gift to the first 50 in line, having an old wooden bowl at the entrance full of candy, bringing in the shows favorite dealers (the majority returning every year), and keeping the feel and look of the show the same. Having fun has always been a big part of the show. Simple Goods provides a place for dealers and customers to gather and visit. The dealers have a good time setting up at the show, which reflects to the customers as they enter and shop. The show is held at the Heritage Community Center, a new building built for the areas youth. Simple Goods considers itself fortunate to be able to use the building for the show. Berlin is a small town about 30 miles southeast of Canton in Ohios Amish country. The town, its hotels, and its restaurants are welcoming. There is a dining area inside the show with Exclusively Yours Catering providing food. Admission to the show is $5 per person, and there is free parking surrounding the building. There is also another antiques show 12 miles away in Millersburg, Ohio, called Earlier Times, on the same weekend with a Friday, Nov. 3, afternoon opening at 4 p.m. Check out the many special holiday open houses at the country antiques shops in the region. With a total of close to 100 dealers at both shows and the open houses, Ohio is an antiques destination the first week of November. The show has a presence on Facebook and Instagram.
