Love And Music Of Regency England

On Sunday, Sept. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m., Historic Rock Ford will host the Jane Austen Playlist as they perform Love and Music of Regency England. Experience the music that Jane Austen played and loved in a sparkling performance that includes dramatized narrations from her beloved novels. The program, featuring music from the Austen Family Music Books, offers a glimpse into the mind of this favorite author as she penned her beloved works. In addition to Austens passion for writing, she also loved music. All of her literary output, from her letters to her novels colorful scenes, expresses musics role in her life. The Jane Austen Playlist, founded in 2019, is a historical music project featuring the music of the Austen family in digitized notations, companion recordings, and dramatically narrated performances. Created and directed by Laura Klein, shows are presented by a cast of Lancaster-based performers. Tickets are $25 for reserved seating and $12 for bring-your-own-chair, available at www.historicrockford.org/special-events. The performance will be held on the piazza of the Hand Mansion with seating on the lawn. The performance area will open 45 minutes prior to the concert time. In the event of rain, this event will be held under the tent by the Rock Ford Barn. Concessions will be available for purchase with proceeds, benefiting Historic Rock Ford. Historic Rock Ford, located at 881 Rock Ford Road, Lancaster, Pa., is comprised of the General Edward Hand Mansion and the John J. Snyder, Jr. Gallery. It is owned and operated by the Rock Ford Foundation, a private, not-for-profit corporation.
