This is an extremely important booster box, and this auction was the first time we ever offered it at Heritage, says Jesus Garcia, trading card games consignment director at Heritage Auctions. It is the games first expansion set, based onThe Book of One Thousand and One Nights, and part of what is so intriguing about it is that it offers collectors a chance at error cards. Some of the cards have two versions, a light version and a dark version, with different shades of the mana symbols because of printing errors. A PokmonFirst Edition Base Set sealed booster box (Wizards of the Coast, 1999)prompted 58 bids before closing at $200,000. Like the Arabian Nights booster box, this set also is a product of an exceedingly low print run. It contains 102 cards, including the coveted Charizard that is sought after by collectors. Booster boxes produced the top two results, but individual cards were also in high demand, including a PokmonChansey Unnumbered Promo 64 Mario Stadium Best Photo Contest CGC Trading Card Game MINT 9 (The Pokmon Company, 1999)from the 1999 64 Mario Stadium Best Photo Contest.
