PA Auction Center To Sell 27 Abner And Aaron Zook Dioramas
Two-Session Sale Slated For Aug. 4 And 5

PA Auction Center will hold a two-day auction of antiques and collectibles on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 4 and 5, at 1141 Wea Wit St., East Earl, Pa. Day one will begin at 9 a.m. and will be a cataloged sale with live and online bidding. The first two hours will be uncatalogued items, followed by approximately 500 lots of catalogued material. Highlights include pedal tractors, country primitives, a vintage outboard boat motor, parking meters, signs, globes, stamps, artwork, marbles, baseball cards, model ships, a vintage propeller, toys, sleigh bells, tools, musical instruments, dolls, silverware (flatware), decoys, cast iron, glassware, comic books, Little Golden Books, and much more. Day two will begin at 7 p.m. and will star 27 Abner and Aaron Zook three-dimensional dioramas. It will be a special evening session. Preview hours will take place from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, Aug. 1 to 5. Other art will include work by Dan Esh, Joel Zook and John Dale. Abner and Aaron Zook were Amish identical twins born in 1921. Their three-dimensional work is highly collectible. There will be 12 pieces by Dan Esh, who was born and raised Amish. Now deceased, his artwork is becoming collectible by folk art enthusiasts, with prices rising. The market for his work is where Zooks work was a decade ago. One piece by Joel Zook is in the sale. Joel Zook was also born and raised Amish, and the work is an exceptional rendition of a Conestoga Wagon with a team of six mules. Created in his later years, it is 70 inches in length and 17 inches high. The shelf platform is a total of 75.5 inches long, 15 inches deep with 12-inch-tall braces underneath. John Dale was a resident of Schaefferstown Pa. Dale passed away in 2007. His works are also becoming sought after by art collectors. Offered will be an immaculate three-dimensional Amish schoolhouse, which, when opened, reveals 18 people inside as well as precise little additions like lunch pails, thermoses, desks, a wood stove, and more.
