Boltz Auction Company of Lancaster, Pa., conducted an auction of the fine art estate of Dr. Thomas Howard Jr. on Aug. 27 at 3601 Columbia Ave., Lancaster, Pa. The following are some of the results, which included mediums such as early European lithographs and etchings. An etching by Rembrandt van Rijin, The Descent from the Cross by Torchlight, sold for $2,700, and an engraving by Albert Durer, Saint Thomas, realized $2,050. An acrylic sculpture by Peter Max titled Two Hearts VER III sold for $2,150, and a mixed media work, Liberty and Justice for All II, by Max, went for $525. An aquatint by Pablo Picasso, La Fenetre de lAtelier a la Californie (The Window of the Studio at La Califirnie), sold for $700. For additional information, call 717-392-4257.
