September, A Month To Commemorate, At The Emporium
September 03, 2021
On Dec. 8, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed Congress following the attack on the U.S. by Japanese naval and air forces. Sept. 11, 2021, will mark 20 years since the United States was again attacked in 2001. One aspect of a disaster is the resilience of the people who work tirelessly to help others in the time of need. The Historic Burlington Antiques and Art Emporium would like to honor those people: military servicemen and women, doctors, nurses, policemen and women, firemen and women, volunteers, along with other essential workers. During the month of September, the Emporium sales display case will be filled with objects associated with these groups. September also means school has started, Fall is around the corner, and the courtyard will be filled with mums for the Wood Street Fair. Each week, the Emporium dealers will refurbish the courtyard with items to enhance porches and gardens. The Emporium Antique Show, Garden Market, and 20-years-in-business celebration is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 24 (rain or shine). The public is invited to join the Emporium dealers for food, fun, music, free evaluations and conversations about antiques. The Emporium is located at 424 High St., Burlington City, N.J., and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday and Friday until 7 p.m. (closed on Monday).
