A&M Auctions To Hold One Of Eight Online-Only Sales On March 15

A&M Auctions in honored to sell for the estate of Brigadier General Chester Chet deGavre and Teresa Cameron deGavre. Dave Allen of A&M will hold eight online-only sales for the estate. Four will be at various onsite locations, and three will be based at 8000 Esham Road in Parsonsburg, Md. The property is located in Onancock, Va., on Virginias Eastern Shore and is referred to as Deep Creek Plantation. Among the over 660 lots will be 18th- and 19th-century Eastern Shore raised panel furniture; 17th-, 18th- and 19th-century fine art; decoys and sporting art; books; Persian rugs; firearms; silver; maps; tools, and much more. The furniture category is a strength. An important 18th-century Eastern Shore of Virginia pine raised panel two-door cupboard/clothes press, ca. 1760, Accomack Co., Va., is an expected highlight and has been featured in several publications. An early 19th-century Eastern Shore of Virginia pine raised panel four-door wall cupboard with original bracket feet has also been featured in several antique publications. An Eastern Shore of Virginia pine tapered leg single drawer Wise Plantation farm table with two board top, ca. 1800, is another standout regional piece.
