The Elverson Show Successfully Returns
June 10, 2022
The Elverson Antiques Show hosted 41 dealers at the Twin Valley High School on May 7 and 8. The show, started over 50 years ago as a fundraiser for the Elverson Fire Company, now benefits the schools lacrosse club, whose members help during setup and with food service during the show. The show returned to its familiar location after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, and the dealers and public couldnt have been happier. Despite the torrential rain on Saturday, those people who braved the weather were not disappointed. Dealers from eight states offered a variety of goods, from decorated blanket chests, colorful quilts, and blue-decorated stoneware to baskets, folk art, holiday decorations, sewing accessories, redware, cookie cutters, lighting, ceramics, butterprints, wooden ware, and painted smalls. Comments such as, Im so glad its back!, and, What a beautiful show!, were heard frequently as people shopped, and business was good. Plans for a fall show are in the works and will take place Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29 and 30. To learn more about the show, visit www.elversonantiqueshowandsale.
