Two Antiques Shows Slated For Historic Bath, Pa.
Governor Wolf Show Set For March 5 And 6 And One-Day Chestnut Street Show On March 5
February 11, 2022
The 13th annual Governor Wolf Historical Society (GWHS) Antiques Show, highlighting primitives and country, is held on the grounds of the 1785 stone Wolf Academy in Bath, Pa. The site also includes the stone center-hall Ralston McKeen House and the Monocacy School. All three buildings will be filled with antiques including country antiques and folk art. Approximately 25 dealers will participate. One of the dealers, Brad Hamilton, said, The last GWHS Show (2020) was one of the best shows Ive ever done! The 1785 Ralston McKeen House has seven fireplaces, which add to the ambiance of the dealers displays. One of the unique features of the show is the period room settings. The main house has large rooms (16-by-16 feet) with corner fireplaces. Each of these rooms adorned with antiques will transport the showgoer back to the 19th century with crackling fires and wide heart pine plank floors. The large walk-in fireplace in the kitchen will be used for an educational demonstration of hearth cooking using period equipment, complete with tastings. In the Monocacy School, lunch will be available from Daily Grind, including homemade soups, sandwiches, fresh baked cookies, and more. On day two, the show will feature the popular appraisal clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. Attendees to the show may bring in a maximum of two items at a cost of $5 each to have verbally appraised by veteran antiques dealers. The hours of the show are Saturday, March 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $6 per person ($5 with a show card, or a printout of a card from www.govwolf.org or a stamp from the Chestnut Street Show). Parking is free of charge. The Governor Wolf Historical Society is located at 6600 Jacksonville Road, Bath, Pa. The town of Bath is just north of Allentown and Bethlehem.
